To Think About |
In June 2002 a priest from Nigeria followed along with the syllabus and the information posted on my website. He read the information regarding the new restrictions on the use of Rite III and sent me the following e-mail message:
Dear Fr. Tom, Just back from making an Apostolic Visitation of a Monastery for the Holy See. From what I read there, I think you are correct. There is a very strong movement in Rome to do way with Rite III. It would be a tragedy. Can you imagine my situation here on Wednesday of Holy Week this year when I had 2,500 people in church (and outside) wanting the forgiveness and peace of the Lord, no other confessors available, trying to use several languages.... so I gave them General Absolution, according to the Canon and reminding them of the conditions!! I have not been able to access you web page but will do so tomorrow when we have full internet access. With gratitude, Ronald, C.Ss.R.
